THE POETARIAT SEEKS POETRY AND ART FOR OUR INAUGURAL ISSUE

THEME: THE WORLD WE WANT IS THE WORLD WE NEED

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: December 31, 2023

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The Poetariat seeks poetry and art from working class, non-academic poets from all over the world who use their art to resist and challenge white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy. We prioritize and center the work of Black, Indigenous, and people of color writers and artists.

We seek work that addresses or responds to the theme. This issue’s theme is “The World We Want is the World We Need.” We are most interested in work that is visionary of a new reality or critical of the current reality. We believe that the personal is political. Therefore, we see no distinction between work that is personal and work that addresses communal, national, international, and global concerns.

We accept unsolicited submissions. Previously published and simultaneous submissions are also accepted.

Payment is $35 for each published work of art and $20 for every published poem.

Poets can submit up to three poems, no longer than 9 pages total, 12 point font in any standard font.

Artists can submit one work of art. Jpeg or pdf preferred.

Authors and artists always retain all rights to their work. In submitting your work to us for consideration, you agree and grant The Poetariat permission to use your work, if accepted, in the publication and promotion of the journal.

You will be informed of our decision within 60 days after the deadline has passed.

We appreciate your interest and submissions.
